In 2015 I was lucky enough to learn the art of braiding from Bob Land at Okanagan Saddlery in Vernon BC. He taught me how to round braid, tie decorative knots and cut hides into strands. Patience is definitely a virtue. I made a bridle and after returning home, a set of reins for my Uncle Jack, but because I love dogs and live on the west coast of Canada now and there are more dogs than horses by a long shot, I started making leashes following (roughly) the western Santa Ines/ Romal rein style.
